2017 Business and Solutions Competition

What are their business solutions for sustainable tourism?

The FITE Business Solutions Competition challenged students to develop and defend business solutions to the challenges of promoting environmental sustainability in the Indonesian tourism industry.
The competition consisted of two rounds. In the first round, students submitted by email a document describing and defending their proposed business solution (see rules and guidelines below). More than 100 students from Indonesia have participated!
The top 10 students from this first round of submissions received funding to attend the Second Annual FITE International forum on Sustainable Tourism and to defend their business solution during the Championship of the Competition. This year, the event was co-organized by STP NHI Bandung (Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bandung) from March 11 to13 on the occasion of STP Bandung’s 55th anniversary celebration and Graduation day. On March 11, a coaching session was organized at Glamping Maribaya, near Bandung, Indonesia. The 10 students were coached by a team from the GWU, led by Paul Hayes, Director of GW Debates. On Sunday March 12, the finalists presented and defended their proposed business solutions before a panel of business and sustainability experts for a real-case business scenario promoting sustainable tourism. Winners were announced at the Graduation ceremony of STP NHI Bandung, on Monday March 13
